Apple Yarns In-Person Class - Crochet a Knitted Knocker

Our Crochet a Knitted Knocker class is designed to help you learn with confidence in a warm, welcoming environment. Knitted Knockers are soft, comfortable crochet breast prostheses donated to women who have undergone mastectomies. Taught by a knowledgeable instructor and limited to just six students, you'll receive plenty of personal attention and support. You'll learn new skills, connect with fellow makers, and leave with a finished project you can be proud of — and that makes a real difference. The support doesn't stop when class ends — the Apple Yarns team is always here during open hours to help you keep moving forward.

Supplies needed

Classes start on time. If purchasing yarn from Apple Yarns, please arrive 30 minutes early so we can prep your yarn.

• 136 yds. of DK weight yarn, wound and ready to crochet with. Approved yarns are Cascade Ultra Pima Fine and Cascade Pandamonium — both proven to stay soft after many washings. Pandamonium is $8.99 and can make up to 4 knockers.
• 4.5mm Crochet Hook
• Stitch markers
• Tapestry needle

Before Class

• Crochet a sample swatch: 10 single crochets by 10 rows on a G hook (4.5mm)

The right yarn makes a big difference in how successful and enjoyable your project will be. Our instructors select approved yarns that work especially well for the pattern and techniques being taught. If you'd like to use a different yarn, we're happy to take a quick look — our goal is simply to help you have the best experience possible. Our classes are small — just six students — so everyone gets personalized attention. Our entire team is here to support you every step of the way. Stop by during open hours anytime you need help!

In-shop class policies

• Supplies are separate from class fees unless noted. Students receive a 10% discount card for in-store purchases, valid through the end of the last class.
• Please do not reference other online resources during class unless guided by the instructor.
• Minimum age for class is 14.
• Cancellations made at least 72 hours in advance receive a shop credit refund. Cancellations with less than 72 hours' notice are not eligible for shop credit. Cancel by emailing shop@appleyarns.com to ensure proper time-stamping.
• If a student misses one session of a multi-session class, a private lesson with the instructor can be scheduled for an additional fee.
• Only paying students are allowed in the classroom.
• Private lessons can be rescheduled once without an additional fee with 24 hours' notice. Cancellations 24+ hours in advance receive shop credit. No refunds for cancellations within 24 hours.
