Knitting for a Cause – Apple Yarns & KnittedKnockers.org

Apple Yarns is proud to be an official sponsor of KnittedKnockers.org, a nonprofit organization that provides free, handknitted and crocheted breast prostheses to women who have undergone mastectomies or other breast surgeries. Volunteers around the world knit and crochet these soft, lightweight prostheses and send them free of charge to women in need.

The preferred yarns for Knitted Knockers are Cascade Ultra Pima (DK weight) and Cascade Ultra Pima Fine (Sport weight) — both 100% mercerized pima cotton, ultra-soft, and gentle on sensitive skin. You’ll find both here, along with our Knitted Knockers classes if you’d like to learn how to make them.
