Artus Shawl Kit, design by Natasja Honby

The Artus Shawl, designed by Natasja Hornby, is a stunning example of mosaic knitting. We've selected Lanas Light by Berroco for this kit.  Lanas Light is soft, has a beautiful luster and is springy to knit. The beautiful mosaic border has a rich texture, and the colors create a tapestry-like effect. Natasja describes the shawl as a substantial wrap with a distinct presence, perfect for keeping you warm and cozy while adding character to any outfit. It's both eye-catching and functional, a true statement piece.

Included in the kit are:

• 6 balls of Lanas Light, 383 yds each - 100% wool
• 6 Pear shaped stitch markers
  

The kit does not include needles or the pattern; Artus calls for US 4 (3.5mm) and US 5 (3.75mm) needles. Here is a link to the needles and the pattern is on Ravelry.

Construction: (from Ravelry) Artus is a triangular shawl that is worked top-down from the center out, starting with a classic Garter Tab Cast On. The shawl features narrow bands of 1x1 color created using the stranded technique. The eye-catching border of the shawl is worked using the mosaic technique, holding only one strand of yarn on every row.

As always, it is essential to manage gauge to ensure you will have enough yarn.  If you are worried, you can purchase an extra skein.
