Summer Crafting and What Makes it Special

Summer changes how we knit.

It’s lighter projects, sitting outside with something on your needles/hook, tossing a project into a bag “just in case,” and realizing you actually do want to finish that thing you started in February.

It also feels like the season when people naturally start drifting back into the shop more often—not always for big planned projects, but for connection, help, and to keep motivated.

At Apple Yarns, we’ve been leaning into community: more circles, more open space, and more reasons to just show up and make something.

📚 Stitches & Stories

A Monday morning mix of books, audiobooks, knitting, crochet, and whatever people feel like talking about. Some people come in ready to chat about what they’re reading, others just listen and stitch. It’s low-key and a little different every week—which is kind of the point.

🧶 WIP Rescue Sunday

This one is simple: bring in the projects you’ve been avoiding.

You know the ones. The bag in the corner. The pattern you meant to come back to. The thing you mostly remember how to do.

And then you decide:
✨ finish it
🪡 fix it
🐸 frog it

No pressure. Just a reset button for your knitting life.

Why Summer feels different

Not just new projects—but old ones too.

We’re seeing more, “I think I want to pick this back up” energy. It’s not about doing more. It’s just about making space for what already feels good.
