FREE “My First” Classes the month of July
The “My First” series of classes are designed to teach a specific skill in a project, great holiday gifts. Preregistration and purchase of project yarn required, minimum of 4 in a class. Private groups with a minimum of 6 people are available and all supplies are at Apple Yarns. Call 756-9992 to RSVP.

My First Knit – Scarf, Saturday July 13th and 27th, 10:30 to 12:00. Introduction to knitting teaches you the long tail cast on, the knit stitch and how to bind off. Materials, 1 skein Pacific Chunky and 10 ½ x 16th circular needles; pattern at Apple Yarns.

My First Crochet – Scarf, Saturday July 13th and 27th, 2:00 to 3:30. Introduction to crochet teaches you the slip stitch, single crochet and how to bind off. Materials, 2 skeins Pacific and H hook; pattern at Apple Yarns.
Lace Brioche Fair Isle Cable

My First Lace –Cowl, Friday July 5th 10:30 to 12:00, Introduction to Lace teaches you to read a lace pattern and chart and 4 popular stitches. Materials 1 skein Eco Alpaca, and 8 x 16 circular needles; pattern is Ridged Lace Cowl by Exercise Before Knitting and is free on ravelry.com

My First Brioche – Cowl, Friday July 12th 10:30 to 12:00, Introduction to Brioche teaches you to read the pattern and the Brioche stitch. Materials, 2 skeins Eco Alpaca or Royal Alpaca in contrasting colors and 8 x 16 circular needles; pattern Purl Bee Brioche Cowl and is free on ravelry.com

My First Fair Isle – Hat, Friday July 19th 10:30 to 12:00, Introduction to Fair Isle teaches you to read a pattern and the Fair Isle technique. Materials, 2 skeins of 128 Superwash and size 9 and 11 x 16 circular needles; pattern Center Square free from knitty.com. Ribbing should be done before class in #9 needles.
My First Cable – Hat, Friday July 26th 10:30 to 12:00, Introduction to cables include instructions in making a cable with and without a cable needle. Materials, 1 Silky Wool XL, 7 and 8 x 16 circular needles. Pattern is Helping Hat by CanKNITian and is free on ravelry.com. Ribbing should be done before class on a #7 needle.

Finish trouble projects before new fall yarns arrive.
August is a great time to finish that project that has you stumped; ½ hour private lessons for $10.00.
