The Washington Hat is part of Nancy Bates's All American Road Trip Collection. The pattern is not in Knitting the National Parks Book.

KitĀ includes: Enough *yarn (4 colors) and 6 stitch markers to make the Washington Beanie. The pattern is sized adult, 19" to 22".

The Kit does not include pattern or needles; pattern calls for US 5 (3.75mm) for the brim and US 7 (4.5mm) for the hat body.
About the yarn:Ā We chose 4 colors in two bases (Malabrigo Rios & Berroco Vintage) to get the closest match to Nancy Bates' sample beanie. Both Rios and Vintage are machine washable and ultra-soft, making this a beanie you won't want to take off!
*We've allotted a minimum of 10% extra for yarn usage based on the pattern recommendations by Nancy Bates. If you want to knit a fold-over brim or add extra length, we recommend buying full skeins.Ā This hat with the yarn and notions priced separately would be $73.04.Ā With whole skeins you could make up to 4 hats by switching color placement.
**Please note that as beautiful as the Washington Beanie is, this is not a beginner pattern for those just learning Fair Isle techniques. For those looking for something a little easier, we recommend the Mammoth Mountain Beanie Kit. It makes for a perfect first Fair Isle hat to warm you up before tackling the Washington Beanie.
