Description

Why KNITTED KNOCKERS, crochet too?  There are over 50K mastectomies in the US each year.  Prosthetics are expensive, hot and heavy; Knitted Knockers are soft, lightweight and huggable. As of July 2023, 560,000 hand-knit/crochet breast prostheses have been given to women FREE.

ULTRA PIMA FINE (crochet) and ULTRA PIMA (knit) by Cascade Yarns are volunteer favorites because they're 100% pima cotton, don't split, washable, soft and affordable.  After many washings (machine washable) they're still soft and comfortable. You can knit or crochet up to 3 Knockers per kit (depending on the size).

Kit includes: Knitted Knocker pattern (color printed & pdf copy), 2 Skeins Ultra Pima Fine (recommended for crochet) or 1 Skein of Ultra Pima (recommended for knit) and an organza project bag to keep everything together.

Kit Color Options: Apple Yarns only carries the most popular colorways requested by recipients of Knitted Knockers. Each kit includes one color, chosen from our available yarns. You have 3 kit options to choose from, each containing one of the following colors (based on availability):

  • Neutral Kit: Natural, Sand, White Asparagus, Buff, Vintage Rose, Sandstone, White Peach (also Suede for crochet)
  • Bright Kit: China Pink, White Peach, Sandstone
  • Dark Kit: Chocolate (also Suede for crochet)

Double Point Needles and Hooks Sold Separately  US 5, 3.75mm (Ultra Pima) & G, 3.75mm (Ultra Pima Fine).

Knit kit - knitted knockers

This is my first attempt at knitted knockers. The directions are easy to follow, and I'm learning how to use double pointed needles. There was a mix-up with the yarn that I had ordered and a replacement ball was sent almost immediately. This is been a good experience for me!

Yarn kit for making “knockers”

Love the yarn(only had to choose from a few colors, didn’t have to struggle to find the best yarn for women after mastectomies, and easy to read patterns! All in one pretty little bag. Highly recommend!
