Benefits:  20% superfine alpaca fiber brings incredible softness to this beautiful yarn that is hand-dyed in Bellingham, WA. The elegant drape and stunning colors make this a perennial favorite for shawls, but McIntosh’s versatility makes it ideal for a wide range of projects. The sky's the limit, let your imagination take hold and see where this yarn takes you!

Yardage:  437 yards / 399.5 meters

Put up:  Skein - please let us know if you would like us to wind your yarn for free.

Recommended Needle Size:  US 1-3 (2.25-3.25mm)

Hook Size:  US B-D

Knit Gauge:  28-30 stitches per 4 inches

Crochet Gauge: coming soon!

Washing Instructions:  Machine wash in cold water on gentle cycle using wool soap. Lay flat to dry.

Origin:  Spun in South America, micro-brewed in Bellingham, WA.

Fiber:  60% Merino wool; 20% Superfine Alpaca; 20% Nylon

Sheen:  Soft sheen/subtle shine.

Physical Weight:  3.5 ounces / 100g

Texture:  Supple and dreamy-soft to touch, this universal-textured plied yarn has a soft halo but no fluff.

I have now finished the project. The feel and the Drape of the yarn is beautiful. One of the scans that I purchase bled. I rinsed it with Synthrapol and I’m still getting a bit of color discharge. I think overtime it’ll be fine, but it was an extra step that I kind of wish I didn’t need to take. Especially at $33 a skein.

This yarn is beautiful and very easy to work with. I screwed the pattern up and had to tear it all out and start again and the yarn did just fine

I LOVE the color saturation and the colorways! I also absolutely LOVE the softness! The only bummer is that the dye rubs off a lot when knitting! At least the current skein of the Glacier Bay colorway!
